Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

BREAKING: Use caution if traveling today.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:

ISOLATED SNOW SQUALLS...MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON...COULD BRIEFLY REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO A HALF MILE OR LESS AND PRODUCE A QUICK COATING OF SNOW.

The last time there were snow squalls on Long Island, this happened.

The NWS is also warning drivers of possible black ice on roadways until about 8 a.m. Friday.

Friday: Isolated snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. West wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Southwest wind 10 to 17 mph.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers between 9pm and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Southwest wind 14 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. West wind 8 to 13 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Monday: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.
