Lindenhurst, NY — The Pandemic changed the working landscape across the United States. Not only did people start working from their homes, but they faced career and employment challenges.
Go Career Compass is born
Lisa Strahs-Lorenc who has dedicated her life to career counseling, workforce development, the non-profit community, and business development, started Go Career Compass with the concept that the business community needs to educate individuals about its needs, and individuals need to transfer their skills and background to discover their best fit. Therefore, Go Career Compass steers people in the most ideal direction – True North, and helps both individuals and business leaders stand out. Now, more than ever, this is a need across all working sectors. These goals are accomplished through workshops and individual counseling.
Website Development
With some experience in working in software development companies, Lisa created a home-grown version of the Go Career Compass website, with the help of tools offered to her by a colleague, John Richardson, President of Quick-Cast. Almost 1 year later, Juan Vides, President of Design By TECHACS Corp, has transformed this website into a more professional version that will attract greater attention and fulfill its mission resulting in a greater outreach. With the professional expertise of Dave Mackie of D & L Graphic Design, the new website has been implemented.
Relationship Building
Having met Juan Vides through a prior job, Lisa attended a live networking event hosted by Juan just before the pandemic hit. Afterwards, Lisa was invited to attend the newly formed Winning on Wednesday (WOW) weekly online networking events which have grown to over 70 participants. Through the pandemic, Lisa has participated in ongoing communication and joint efforts that promote businesses and organizations. It is through this relationship that Juan transformed Lisa’s website and both individuals continue to believe in the value of relationship building. Lisa and Juan believe in giving back to the community and in creating partnerships that are mutually beneficial. The result promises to be greater outreach and additional services to the local and regional communities.
