LI Woman Raising Money To Help Family Of Late Brother
After a Lindenhurst native and father of five died unexpectedly, his sister started a fundraiser in his honor.

LINDENHURST, NY — A Long Island woman started a fundraiser to help the family of her brother after he unexpectedly passed away last week, leaving behind five children.
After Lindenhurst native Paul Roesch Jr. died on April 6, his sister Kim Roesch, of Massapequa created a GoFundMe in his honor.
"After high school [Paul] traveled the world some may say," she wrote. "Meeting thousands of people who all grew to love him one way or another."

Kim described her brother as "kind-hearted" and a "loving soul."
"Although Paulie had some demons and he was working on fixing them he would still light up any room he walked in. He always knew how to make people laugh and have a good time even if he wasn’t," she wrote. "That’s just the kind of person he was. He will be truly missed and loved forever."

She started the page in order to raise $4,000 for her brother's funeral. As of Monday, the page has raised a total of $270.
A funeral service has been set for this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chapey and Sons funeral home on 20 Hicksville Road in Bethpage.
Kim tells Patch she has been raising three out of the five children.
"They need one happy memory although wakes are sad this is going to be a day to remember him by share happy memories and say goodbye," she said."
"We all love and miss you," Kim wrote in reference to her brother. "May you finally be at peace with your dad watching over us."
