Lindenhurst Academy Student Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Students and staff were sent home early Tuesday as a precaution after the positive test was reported.
LINDENHURST, NY — A student at Lindenhurst Academy tested positive for coronavirus, the school district announced on Tuesday. According to a letter from Superintendent Daniel Giordano, the student has not been in school since last Thursday.
The student will not be permitted to return for at least 10 days and until the Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) releases them from isolation.
As a precautionary measure the students and staff of the Lindenhurst Academy have been sent home early Tuesday while the contact tracing investigation begins. However, school officials have not yet made a decision on whether to close school for in-person learning on Wednesday.

The department of health will be conducting contact tracing and informing those who are considered in close contact to the student who tested positive.
