Lindenhurst Athletes Celebrate National Girls, Women in Sports Day

Nationwide event sheds light on protecting students from concussions.

Lindenhurst Middle School celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a special breakfast to honor seventh and eighth-grade female student-athletes.

These students were honored for their achievements on and off the field, in leadership and dedication to their teams.

The theme of this year’s celebration, now in its sixteenth year, was “Game On” and it brought to light the importance of having guidelines in place to protect student athletes from concussions. The guest speaker was a Lindenhurst graduate and coach, former student athlete and New York City police officer Kara Cullinane.
