Lindenhurst Athletes Declare Their Intent

Five girls announce their choices, sign with colleges.

Lindenhurst seniors Rochelle Drucker (field hockey), Shannon Griffin (softball), Alexis Perdue (basketball), Victoria Raimondi (lacrosse) and Senna Tadfie (lacrosse) all signed National Letters of Intent to play their sports in college.

In front of their proud parents, coaches and administrators, the students signed their letters. Drucker will attend Division I LIU-Brooklyn in the fall. Griffin will continue her softball career at Georgian Court in Lakewood, N.J Purdue, a shooting guard, will bring her talents to Daeman College in Buffalo. Raimondi will serve as the goalie on the Philadelphia University lacrosse team, and Tadfie will play midfield for the Mercy College lacrosse team in Dobbs Ferry.

“We are blessed to get the opportunity to play the sports that we love at the collegiate level,” said Purdue.

“So many athletes stop playing after high school,” added Tadfie.

Griffin said that her teammates have been like family to her.

“It is going to be hard to leave behind our families, teammates, coaches and community,” Drucker said. “But we are all exited to see what this next stage of life has in store.”

Raimondi summed up the feeling of the group by stating that, “hard work pays off.”
