Lindenhurst Community Enjoys An ‘Evening of Dance’

LINDENHURST, NY - From Lindenhurst Union Free School District: On March 28, members of the Lindenhurst Union Free School District community enjoyed the 14th annual “Evening of Dance” performances held at Lindenhurst High School. The evening was filled with beautiful music, dancers and costumes. Members of the inaugural middle school dance program took to the stage this year joining the high school dancers for the first time. The Lindenhurst dance program is one of the few on Long Island taught by an accredited dance teacher, Kristine Lyons, and attracts serious dance students.

Donning colorful costumes, and playing popular music, the students demonstrated dance genres including ballet, modern, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop and more. The dancers worked hard to present a show that was a varied representation of dancing styles. With close to 20 performances, they did just that.

“I am in awe of these students and their talent,” said Ms. Lyons, who also serves as the director of choreography. “Watching them grow as dancers has been a transformation of love for me every day.”
