Lindenhurst Family Welcomes A New Year's Baby

The first baby of 2013 born at Good Samaritan Hospital is from Lindenhurst.

Melissa and Gerard Drescher welcomed Gerard Drescher, Jr., to their family at 6:19 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Gerard is the couple’s second baby, joining 20-month old sister, Adeline.

“What an amazing miracle to bring a child into the world on New Year’s Day, the first day of a year full of possibilities,” said Melissa Drescher. “My husband and I feel truly blessed.”

In honor of little Gerard’s arrival, the West Islip-based hospital presented the Dreschers with a gift basket donated by Babies ‘R Us.

The delivering physician was Maria Lockhart, MD.
