Lindenhurst Fire Department Brings Christmas to Sick Boy
The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Lindenhurst.
Submitted by a Lindenhurst resident:
On Monday Dec. 22, the Lindenhurst Fire Department’s Chemical and Salvage Co. #2 paid a visit to a very sick boy named Philip Librizzi.
His mother is an old friend of mine and has been bringing her son to my parents house to see Santa since he was 5. He has a very rare disease and needs major medical attention and is not able to be in malls with Santa. She reached out to me in hopes I could arrange a visit from Santa to her home, because Philip is very sick and she doesn’t know if he will make next year.

My husband is the 2nd lieutenant at the fire house on 39th Street. I asked him if he could arrange a visit from Santa. Well they delivered. At least 10 firemen, one Santa, two chiefs of the fire department, arrived at her house on the fire trucks. It was a wonderful night for Joy and her son Philip.Â
