Lindenhurst High School Students Play the Game of Life
Financial Literacy and education brings "real world" education for students , preparing them for life after school.
May 21, 2019: Armed with fictitious profiles about marital status, number of children, employment, outstanding loans, credit and “real world” situations, Lindenhurst students received a Game of Life program booklet and budgets. To learn more about the topics that would help them make financial decisions related to their profiles, teams of students met with business representatives who shared their expertise:
Coldwell Banker-Lisa Albinowski-Housing
Wealth Advisory Group-Rhonda Schwartz-Budgeting

Primerica-Susan Rollins, Christopher Allen Turner-Financial Planning
Student Loan Debt Forgiveness-Warren Trunz-Student Loans
Equity First Foundation-Rhonda Klch-Mortgages
After the orientation, and visits with the business professionals, students worked together to address their profiles’ objectives like: Do we have enough money to buy a house? Can we save enough money to go on a cruise? Can we buy a vacation home? One leader from each group presented their answers with the attendees and came up with some important recommendations. Not only did they take the experience seriously, but they learned a great deal about real world challenges after they leave high school.
Thank you to the all the business professionals for their time and dedication to their industries and to the administration of Lindenhurst School District who welcomed this program into their school.
We look forward to continuing the important work of educating students, faculty, and institutions not only related to education, but to corporations and community service organizations. They say that it is what you don’t know, that will hurt you. In the case of financial literacy, that is more than accurate.
