In accordance with established policy of the Lindenhurst School District, children must be 5 years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2021, to be enrolled in kindergarten for the upcoming year. If your child has received or is currently receiving preschool special education services, you will still need to register for kindergarten.

Please note the following documents are required: Proof of birth, immunization records, and health appraisal form (physical) for each child. Additionally, paper registration packets are available upon request if you contact registration@lufsd.org or call 631-867-3055.

For your child to be included in kindergarten screening and orientation, it is asked that you make every effort to register your child as soon as possible. Children who have not been registered by the screening and/or orientation dates scheduled by the individual elementary schools will not be allowed to attend the screening and/or orientation.

As a specific number of kindergarten seats exist in each elementary school, the district must utilize a first-come, first-served procedure. Please note that students registering later during the year may be enrolled in an overflow school within the Lindenhurst Union Free School District.
