Lindenhurst Middle School Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus
The school district announced the most recent COVID-19 case on Friday.
LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst Middle School staff member recently tested positive for coronavirus, the school district announced on Friday. The employee has not been in school since Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The staff member will not be allowed to return to the school for at least 10 days or until the Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) releases them from isolation. The contact tracing investigation has begun and Lindenhurst school district officials are providing the local health department with a list of probable close contacts.
Those who are identified through contact tracing will be contacted by the health department and will be required to quarantine at home for 14 days from the date of exposure to the infected employee.

According to the New York State COVID-19 report card, the district has 11 reported cases of the coronavirus since Friday. Four staff members from Albany Avenue Elementary School, two staff members for Lindenhurst Middle School, four Lindenhurst High School students and one William Rall Elementary School student.
