Lindenhurst Residents Sound Off on Snow Plowing

How have the roads in your neighborhood fared during the blizzard? Find out what your neighbors said on Facebook.

Winter Storm Jonas brought over a foot on snow to most of Long Island with a half dozen towns gaining totals of over 2 feet.

The blizzard led to travel bans on both the Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway, while LIRR service was suspended until Monday morning.

While the bans are currently lifted, the LIRR is still facing sizable delays and numerous Long Island school districts announced closures as the island works to dig itself out of this weekend’s blizzard.

We asked Patch readers how they felt about the plowing done on their block. Here’s what you said:

  • “For the amount of snow we got, I was happy.”
  • “No. I understand they worked long and hard but they did terrible job. I hate to sound like this but we pay village taxes for this. It’s a disgrace.”
  • “Our street was plowed but not sanded or salted. It’s very slick.”
  • “I’d be happier if cars weren’t parked on the street so plows could get closer to the curb.”
  • “3rd Street off straight path only half side of the street was done making it difficult for cars to pass each other without having to pull into a person driveway”
  • “No, they haven’t come down Pacific Street at all, and now we have flooding. There is no where for the water to go, and you can’t even find the storm drains to try and dig them out.”
