Lindenhurst Student-Athletes Commit to Colleges

Five soccer players and one lacrosse player set to take their games to the next level.

Lindenhurst High School senior athletes Claudia Cagnina, Ashley Claud, Rebecca Conway, Brianna Doran and eleventh-grade athlete Taylor Trovato have all committed to play soccer at the collegiate level.

In addition to playing soccer, Conway will also be playing lacrosse, as will senior athlete Nicole Stoppelli. Both were recognized in a separate acknowledgement ceremony.

Parents, coaches and administrators were all proud to recognize the students accomplishments. Cagnina will attend St. John’s University in Queens, while Claud will head to the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Conway will play for Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry and Doran will be a member of the Adelphi team in Garden City. Stoppelli will be a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas lacrosse team in New York.

Trovatowill continue her athletic career in Lindenhurst for one more year before attending Central Connecticut State University.
