Lindenhurst Village Election 2020 Preview

LINDENHURST, NY — Voters in Lindenhurst will get the chance to elect their local representatives during the village election later this month. The election will take place on Wednesday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. All village residents registered to vote with the Suffolk County Board of Elections as of Friday, March 6 are eligible to cast ballots in this election.
Up for election is the mayor and two village trustees, each for four-year terms. All are running unopposed.
Mayor Michael Lavorata, who served as deputy mayor from 2014 until he was officially appointed mayor in 2017, is up for re-election. Before that he served as village trustee in 2004 and was re-elected in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

In addition, Joan Masterson will be up for re-election as village trustee. She was first elected to the position in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. Before that she served on the two-family review board for three years and also worked previously as a part-time clerk typist for the village court.
Richard J. (RJ) Renna is also looking to be re-elected as village trustee. He was first appointed by Mayor Lavorata in 2017 before being elected in 2018 for a two year term.
