Lindy Locals Chime in on Which Places Need a Facelift

We asked residents which place in town is looking the worse for wear.

On Monday we asked people which building or storefront that is getting a little long in the tooth. Some people said all or most on downtown Lindy needs some work. Others voted for specific places. Everyone has an opinion.

Here are some of what people said on Facebook and the website about which buildings might be in need on a facelift:

Woodro: Station Cafe bar on the corner of Hoffman and High street. I believe it is the oldest bar in Lindenhurst and the only bar that has the least customers.. The entire bar needs a facelift.

Mike Trezza: All of them. Especially north of the tracks. Downtown Lindy needs a total refurbishing and revitalization. Go down Deer Park Avenue in Babylon. It's hard to believe it's the next town over. It's a chicken and egg. You need to look a little bit upscale to attract upscale looking businesses.

Sharon Bannon-Guarini: why cant we look like babylon village or islip village..

Edward Michael: I think it takes a long time to get to that point but I don't think our village is THAT decrepit. I mean the area south of the tracks is actually quite nice. A few bakeries, a music store (rare), a coffee shop (even more rare), dress stores, etc. It's not all bad, look at the bright side.

Holly Ott-Christ: Agreed most need a lift .. But pick an area and concentrate on it .. But north lindy looks so dumpy !! I never tell people that come visit to use well wood any more.

David Wallach: The building code should be modified so that buildings would not be permitted to decline into a state that requires a facelift.

James Simmons: We already have a 2 CVS's one of which is soon to be a bigger CVS, so we don't need a Walgreens. And a big reason that we will never have nice restaurants is simple. No parking. Babylon and Islip both have very large municipal parking lots. Babylons downtown area is literally surrounded by them.

Kim Kasulka Woodworth: How about the old deli on wellwood just south of sunrise hwy

Edward Michael: S.O.M.O. Good restaurant, needs a facelift.

Dawn Clausi LoGullo: How about the gas station on Wellwood near the Dairy Barn - talk about an eyesore. Its been closed for years !

Christian Minucci: 90% of the stores need a face life from the FORMER CARVEL up. To this store and up. We need NEW LIFE in the town more restaruants (NOT TAKEOUT).

Apryl ORafferty Meyer: Its getting a face lift! Were in the process of getting this part of well wood to be more upscale by putting a higher end salon- not like the others we plan on being a huge part of the community offering charity work, and plenty of community events. Here's to the start of a new beginning!

Christian Minucci: Sorry I know I am going to get a lot of people upset, but WE do not need another salon! There are to many to begin with. Hair salon, Nail salon, barber shops, cell phone. We need something that a family can come and enjoy a night out. Or a couple out on a date.

Edward A.Gross: National liquadores building in South Bay shopping center

Christian Minucci: They need to make that into a sporting good store!! Like Dicks, Cabela........
