Lindy Resident Makes Masks for Senior High School Parade
Teri Kroll gives her time to help send a special message to Lindy HS Grads.
Teri Kroll, a resident of Lindenhurst, led the committee to create special masks for the Lindy Cares Adopt a Senior Project. Together, this group of dedicated volunteers created masks emblazoned with the words "Lindy Strong". The material and supplies for masks were donated by the Lindenhurst High School PTSA and send a message that has defined Lindy residents and their resolve through the years. Lindy Strong and Lindy Pride are words that have come to be a symbol of the resilience and collaboration of residents, civics and government officials when faced with hurricanes, economic hardships and now covid-19.
Teri herself copes with the loss of her son Timothy and works in the community, empowers and supports organizations who help people battle the disease of addiction in her son's honor. "Timothy's Mom" spent the last few nights sewing feverishly into the morning hours in order to complete the project by supplying all the teachers, staff and attendees to the Lindenhurst Senior High School Parade with these masks to remind the students who were unable to attend classes and finish they senior year in person, that they are Lindy Strong, they are resilient.
Mitch Mendell of South Shore Royaltees silk screened the design free of charge and consistently demonstrates his dedication to creating an environment of caring in Lindy.
