The Lindenhurst School District offers residents information about the proposed 2013-14 budget.

The Lindenhurst School District has released its 2013-14 budget Lindy Spotlight newsletter.Â
Click here to download and read a PDF file of it. And look for an updated, four-page, dedicated budget newsletter to be mailed to every resident in Lindenhurst from the District this week. That will also be posted online at the website.*
A public hearing about the proposed $145.7 million budget - that includes a 1.99 percent tax levy and the removal of 66 aide positions and $1.1 million in reserves - will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 8:45 p.m. at the McKenna Administration Building.
The Annual Budget Vote and Board of Education Trustee Election will take place on Tuesday, May 21, as usual, at Albany Avenue, Daniel Street, Harding Avenue and William Rall Elementary Schools.
And those residents who voted last year at Alleghany Avenue Elementary School vote this year at the Lindenhurst Middle School, according to the District on its website here.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. the day of the vote. A BOE Community Forum is also scheduled that night at the McKenna Administration Building at 8 p.m.

And stay "tuned" to Lindenhurst Patch for upcoming profiles of the eight BOE candidates running this year. In the meantime read more about who's running here, and why incumbent Trustee Ray Doran isn’t running here.
