Catch a performance of the award-winning musical Groucho, a Life in Revue at BACCA in Lindenhurst on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Daniel Street Elementary School is holding a car wash on Saturday to raise funds for the fifth-grade class. It's 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; $5 per car and $7 per SUV or minivan. According to Michelle Greenberg Bornemann on Lindenhurst Patch's Facebook page, "Please come show your support for our fifth-grade class! Car wash today at Daniel Street School's front circle! The children are looking forward to a special end of the year, and we're trying out best to make them just that. Thank you!"
The Lindenhurst Fire Department is holding a recruitment day on Sunday, April 28, at the main house located at 225 South Wellwood Avenue, according to information shared with Lindenhurst Patch by LFD member Jennifer Price.

Saturday is Illegal Reptile and Amphibian Amnesty Day at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Suffolk SCPA). All reptiles and amphibians that are venomous and illegal federally and in New York State are included and will be accepted during the program, the Suffolk SCPA said. However, no mammals will be accepted and species that don't require permits, and/or aren't threatened or endangered won't be accepted, the SCPA noted. Psychic Medium Jeffrey Wands performs readings at the West Babylon Fire Department on Friday at 7:30 p.m. There’ll be light refreshments and door prizes. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit West Babylon Fire Department Truck Company Four and Engine Company Eight.
Saturday’s comedy night at the American Legion Hall in Babylon, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and include four comedy acts, a buffet dinner, beer wine and soda. There’s also a cash bar.
On Sunday Farrell's Bar and Grill in West Islip hosts a benefit for Friends of Freddie Pet Rescue at 1:30 p.m. Admission for adults is $15, children $10. Children younger than five years old are admitted free. There’s a free buffet, raffles and live entertainment.
