Long Island Restaurant Week Returning Next Week With Some Changes

LONG ISLAND, NY — The annual Long Island Restaurant week will be returning next week — this time with a few changes amidst the coronavirus pandemic. This year's fall Long Island Restaurant Week will take place from Sunday, October 18 through Sunday, October 25 and the event will aim to raise money for those in need.

For the first time, proceeds from the week-long event will go towards two local non-profit organizations: the Independent Restaurant Coalition, which supports restaurants and works for much needed legislative change, and Island Harvest, which distributes millions of pounds of food through their network of community based food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency feeding programs.

"Now more than ever, we want to make a difference for two groups in need: restaurants and those facing food insecurity," Steve Haweeli, President, Long Island Restaurant and Hospitality Group said.

This year, in addition to dinner, participating restaurants across Long Island may now offer a two-course lunch prix fixe for $20. Several restaurants will also offer either a $25 three-course dinner menu or a $35 three-course dinner menu. Each participant is required to offer three options per course for dinner. Participating restaurants may offer any combination of prix fixes through the promotion. Many restaurants will be offering the promotion for takeout as well as for limited indoor and outdoor dining.
