Man Arrested In Connection To 2019 Bank Robbery

The 42-year-old was arrested this year for robbing the Apple Bank on East Sunrise Highway nearly two years ago.

LINDENHURST, NY — An Islip man was arrested on Friday in connection to a robbery at a Lindenhurst bank in 2019, according to Suffolk police.

Alan Koeppel, 42, was accused of robbing the Apple Bank for Savings on 151 East Sunrise Highway on May 24, 2019, police said.

He allegedly approached the teller and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the demand and gave him cash from the drawer. He then fled on foot southbound on N. Indiana Avenue.

Koeppel was charged with third-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 6.
