Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By 3 Cars In Copiague: PD
The 52-year-old was hit by a car before being struck by two more cars that left the scene on Sunrise Highway Wednesday night, police said.
COPIAGUE, NY — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by three cars — including two that fled the scene — in Copiague Wednesday night, according to Suffolk police.
Gacia Laroche, 52, of Amityville was crossing eastbound Sunrise Highway, from north to south, at the intersection of Bayview Avenue, when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck at 10:20 p.m., police said.
That driver stopped and remained at the scene. Laroche was then run over by two other cars that fled the scene, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
