Police Car Involved In Lindenhurst Crash
The officer was in a marked police car when it was struck by a BMW Tuesday evening.
LINDENHURST, NY — A police car was involved in a two-car crash in Lindenhurst Tuesday evening, according to Suffolk police.
A First Precinct patrol officer was driving a marked police car on Austin Street, making a left turn onto South Delaware Avenue, when it was struck by a BMW sedan traveling southbound on South Delaware Avenue at 6:15 p.m.
The BMW then crashed through a fence and into a shed at the home located on the corner of South Delaware Avenue and Austin Street.

The police officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the BMW, an adult male, was not injured.
