Rall Ambassadors Educate Fellow Students about Bullying

The Lindenhurst elementary school forms the Bully Ambassadorship program to educate students about all aspects of bullying and how to spot it and prevent it.

William Rall Elementary School in Lindenhurst has formed the Bully Ambassadorship program to educate students about all aspects of bullying.

Approximately nine fifth-grade students met weekly throughout the school year to discuss issues and problems with the school’s psychologist and social worker during lunch periods.

Students were selected by teachers to be ambassadors, and they learned what bullying is, the different types of bullying such as cyberbullying, why people bully and how to prevent it.

Each week  the ambassadors would share what they learned with their peers by making presentations in different classrooms.

The students also were involved in P.S. I Love You Day by cutting out and distributing purple hearts for younger students to write positive character traits about themselves for display.

After many months of hard work and dedication, the ambassadors celebrated and received certificates of completion.

The program is supervised by school psychologist Christina Padilla and social worker Ralph Ruggerio.
