SCPD Helicopter Search over N. Greene & Delaware Sat. Results in Non-Criminal Activity

A helicopter was initially sent up on Saturday evening 'to search for a possible suspect,' but it turned out to be a resident who locked himself out of his home, say Suffolk Police officials.

Resident reports of a Suffolk Police helicopter on Saturday night flying in and around North Greene and Delaware Avenues turned out to be for something non-criminally related.

According to Suffolk Police, a helicopter "went up around 6 p.m. because a resident on North Delaware Avenue called police because they saw someone climbing into a window of another house on the block."

However, police told Lindenhurst Patch, "after an investigation it was determined the person climbing through the window was a resident who locked himself out."
