Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island
BREAKING: It could be an icy ride to work Monday, but there's a midweek warm-up coming.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Long Island warning of possible icy conditions on roadways through Monday morning.
The high temperature Sunday at Long Island MacArthur Airport was a freezing 22 degrees, a day after nearly a foot of snow fell on parts of the island. You can find final unofficial snow totals for many towns here.
The temperature will fall to about 10 degrees overnight into early Monday morning and wind gusts nearing 30 mph will mean wind chill temperatures between zero and 5 degrees.

"For snow that melted on roads and sidewalks, the water will quickly refreeze this evening creating patchy ice overnight," the NWS said in the special weather statement. "Take extra caution while venturing outdoors overnight."
The high on Monday will be near 26 degrees, with wind chills temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees.
