Sweeney Heading Back To Albany
Assemblyman from Lindenhurst easily defeats Republican challenger.

Incumbent assemblyman Robert Sweeney (D-Lindenhurst) is headed back to Albany.
Just before midnight on Wednesday, Sweeney was leading his Republican challenger Rashad Cureton 75 percent to 25 percent with 67 of 81 precincts reporting.
Sweeney served more than 14 years as Lindenhurst Village Clerk before being elected to the Assembly in a special election in 1988.

Cureton is recent Stony Brook University graduate with a degree in political science and works at a local law firm. This was his first race.
