Thunderstorms Could Interrupt Beautiful Summer Weather On Long Island

Thunderstorms are possible on three of the next four days, the National Weather Service says.

It's been a beautiful few days on Long Island, but the sunny summer weather could be interrupted by thunderstorms on three of the next four days.

The Midwest is expected to get hit hard by thunderstorms, but those storms will weaken and trigger only spotty storms in the Northeast, according to AccuWeather.

On Wednesday, fair weather will give way to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The storms will be very slow moving, so where they occur, locally heavy rainfall can be expected, the National Weather Service says.
