Town Of Babylon Beach Permits To Go On Sale With Discounts

Residents can purchase their permit starting June 1 at a discounted price due to the coronavirus.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — Town of Babylon officials announced that summer beach permits will go on sale starting June 1. Residents will be able to purchase the permits using credit cards only at the Phelps Lane pool on 151 Phelps Lane in North Babylon. Residents will need a valid drivers license, car registration and a tax or utility bill with a matching address in the Town of Babylon to be able to buy a permit.

Resident recreation permits will be required beginning June 6 at Overlook Beach, Cedar Beach and Gilgo Beach. Permits for the Cedar Beach Marina and Campground will be required starting June 26.

Permits will only be sold at the Phelps Lane Pool for the entire season and will not be sold at Tanner Park or the Cedar Beach Marina at any point during the summer. Permits will be on sale from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Residents must wearing a mask or face covering to purchase a permit and must remain in their cars for the entirety of the transaction.

In addition, 2020 Summer Beach Permit prices have been reduced in response to the different summer we have planned due to COVID-19. Resident recreation permits are now $35 (normally $45) and senior, volunteer firefighter and veteran recreation permits are now $15 (normally $20). Volunteer firefighters and veterans must have a valid ID at time of purchase.
