Traffic Advisory: Lane Closure Expected On Wellwood Avenue

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation announced on Monday that drivers in the Town of Babylon should expect an overnight lane closure in the area this week. The closure will take place on a portion of Wellwood Avenue (Suffolk County Route 3) at Sunrise Highway (State Route 27).

The southbound right lane on Wellwood Avenue will be shut down starting at 10 p.m. on Tuesday for maintenance to the overhead sign structures at both ends of the bridge. The road will reopen at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Electronic message signs are in the area to relay closure information to the traveling public. As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
