Caravana began his term as Lindenhurst Union Free School District's new assistant superintendent on Aug. 1

Lindenhurst Union Free School District’s new assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and instructional personnel, Vincent A. Caravana, began his term on Aug. 1.
Caravana joined the district in 2009 as coordinator of English and became assistant principal of the high school in 2013. Before working in Lindenhurst, Caravana was the English chairperson at Eastport South Manor Junior-Senior High School in Manorville and assistant principal of Beach Street Middle School in West Islip. He’s also an adjunct professor at Suffolk County Community College’s Selden campus, where he’s taught “Introduction to Human Communication” since 2008.
Caravana earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Hofstra University. He earned his certificate in School District Administration from Dowling College in 2007.

“As a former Lindenhurst resident and graduate of the district, I can truly appreciate how special this opportunity is,” Caravana said. “My understanding of Lindenhurst and the history of the community and district will only enhance my ability to facilitate growth and move the curriculum forward. It is a pleasure to be able to return to my roots and give back to the community that helped raise me into who I am today.”
