Vote Tuesday For BOE Candidates, School Budget

On Tuesday, Lindenhurst School District residents head to the polls to vote on the annual school spending plan and also candidates for the board of education.

The $145.7 million proposed budget includes a 1.99 percent increase in the tax levy, uses $1.1 million in reserves and also removes more than 60 aides. Polls will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Lindenhurst Middle School and four elementary schools: Albany, Daniel, Harding, and William Rall.

• Robert Voyles, running for the seat being vacated by Trustee Ray Doran
• Lynn Aniello, running for the seat being vacated by Trustee Ray Doran  

• Ed Langone, incumbent running for re-election against newcomer Norma Sarmiento
• Norma Sarmiento, running against incumbent Ed Langone  

• Richard Koehler, running to complete the term on the seat he currently holds
• Sean McNeilly, running for the seat currently held by Richard Koehler.  

• Robert Vitiello, running for reelection unopposed
