Woman Fatal Struck By Car After Falling In The Road: Police
The 67-year-old was killed after being hit by a car on Wellwood Avenue Saturday night, police said.
LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst woman who fell in the road was killed after being struck by a car in Lindenhurst Saturday night, according to Suffolk police.
Theresa Buckley, 67, fell into the southbound lane of Wellwood Avenue, near Hartford Street, and was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet sedan at 6:45 p.m., police said. She was then pronounced dead on the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The driver, a 27-year-old Lindenhurst man, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
