Nicole Semidei artwork will be on display for purchase and enjoyment at "The Cafe," 780 W.Beech St. in Long Beach until June 30.

“The Cafe” a chic eatery that features live music, fine dining and unique presentations of artwork from Long Island artist is now featuring the work of Nicole Semidei until June 30.
“In some way,” Nicole Semidei said, “I was always an artist. My mom was a fantastic sketch artist. I used to draw with her growing up. Art was always cathartic for me. I started just using pencil, then moved to charcoal and eventually worked mainly with acrylics. I branched out and explored different styles and used different mediums because I always wanted what I created to reflect what I was thinking or feeling at the time. Sometimes that meant being playful or enigmatic and others it meant diving into my own darkness.”
With about thirty pieces on display most are a mixture of acrylic and charcoal with a few pieces stain glass!

Nicole said, “I learned stain glass at Somers Tiffany now operating as Mongo’s Art Glassville. Stain glass holds a special place for me because translating a concept into glass is a powerful experience.”
