Cops ID Suspect in 2 Bank Robberies

Police released a photo and identity of the man they believe robbed two banks in about 20 minutes Tuesday.

Nassau Police have identified a man they say robbed two banks in Oceanside and Rockville Centre in about 20 minutes.

Cops say Elvi Rodriguez, 32, is the man who robbed Citibank, located at 297 Merrick Rd. in Rockville Centre, at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday. At 1:40 p.m. the same day, he robbed Roslyn Savings Bank, located at 3140 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside, police said.

Authorities said they have recovered a blue Ford pickup truck in which Rodriguez allegedly fled.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244- TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous. For more information, callers can also contact the Robbery Squad at 516-573-8040.
