Flash Flood Warning In Effect For Nassau County
People should be on the lookout for flooding until 7 p.m. the National Weather Service says. Find out when the rain is supposed to end.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Nassau County on Tuesday, which will last until at least 7 p.m.
The warning was issued for both northern and southern Nassau County, as well as parts of Westchester, New York City and Connecticut. Suffolk County was not part of the warning.
The NWS said that showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the afternoon, and ran could become heavy at times, with rainfall of more than 1 inch per hour at times. Some areas could receive more than two inches of rain, which could cause the flooding.

This Afternoon: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 77. Southwest wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 8 p.m. and midnight. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 68. North wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. North wind 9 to 13 mph.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Northeast wind around 8 mph.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
