Fourteen Long Beach Student Athletes Heading to State Championships
This will be a district record for the largest contingent of individual sport athletes ever to reach this level in one season.

LONG BEACH, NY - Fourteen Long Beach High School student athletes will be heading to the New York State Winter Championships.
This will set a district record for the largest contingent of individual sport athletes ever to reach this level in one season.
The students who will attending the championships include: Dakota Ejnes for gymnastics; Ryan Aroesty, Matthew Cannon, Michael McCarthy, Shane Morris, Troy Morris and Thomas Ryan for the boys swim team; Scott Powers for track and field; and Shawn Bourne, Tyreek Bromley, Tyrese Byron, Matt Maquet, Charlie Spada and Jacori Teemer will represent the wrestling team, which will also be honored at the New York State wrestling tournament as the No. 1 ranked team in the State.

“We are very proud of our student athletes who work hard on and off the field,” Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Arnold Epstein said. “They each demonstrate sportsmanship and dedication and we wish them well at States.”
