Fourth Of July 2019: What's Open, Closed In Long Beach
Some services will be closed in Long Beach for the Fourth of July through the rest of the week.
LONG BEACH, NY — As families across the country celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, barbecues and days off of work, many services will also take a break for the holiday. With Fourth of July falling on a Thursday this year, some services will be closed in Long Beach on Friday as well.
Long Beach City Hall will be closed on July 4, and the Long Beach Rec Center will also be closed for the day. Other services such as the Long Beach Public Library will close early on the Wednesday before Independence Day.
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo also announced that state troopers and local law enforcement agencies will increase patrols to combat intoxicated driving during the holiday from June 29 through July 5, according to a news release.

Long Beach City Hall: Closed on July 4. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Wednesday, July 3 and Friday, July 5. Long Beach's City Hall closes one hour earlier during the months of July and August, opposed to its normal 5 p.m. closing time during the rest of the year.
Long Beach City Court: Closed on July 4. Opened for its regular summer hours on July 3 and July 5.
Long Beach City Clerk: Closed on July 4. Open on July 3 and July 5 during regular hours.
Long Beach Recreation Center: Closed on July 4. Opened for its regular summer hours on July 3 and July 5.
Long Beach Public Library: Closed on July 4. The library will also close at 6 p.m. on July 3rd, three hours earlier than its usual closing time of 9 p.m. The library will be open for regular summer hours on Friday, July 5.
