Who: In 2012, Timothy Browne’s Long Beach home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Browne, his three sons and their dog have been living in a camper for nearly two years as they rebuild their home. Construction was near completion when 13-year-old Robert Browne was injured in a surf camp accident at a local beach as he veered to avoid a collision with another surf student and landed on a sandbar created by rip tides. He crushed his C5-6 vertebrae sending shards of bone through his spinal cord paralyzing his young body. Since his injury on July 3, 2014, Robert has undergone three surgeries and is now in a rehabilitation center. In addition to the overwhelming medical bills, the Browne’s also face major financial commitments for the modification of the family home to accommodate Robert’s wheelchair as well as the necessary purchase of a disability-suitable van to transport the teen and the wheelchair.

WHAT: Montauk We Hope and the Testaverde Foundation are co-hosting a fundraiser to support the Browne family. The fundraiser will feature a casino night, live/silent auction as well as dinner and top-shelf liquor. This is an opportunity to have an enjoyable evening out while helping a local child and his family.
