Gentle Brew Coffee Seized By State For Failing To Pay Taxes
According to the state, the owners have not paid sales taxes since 2017.

The owners of Gentle Brew Coffee Roasters in Long Beach have had their business seized by the state for failing to pay taxes.
According to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the owners of Gentle Brew owe $51,281.49 in sales taxes. James Gazzale, a spokesman for the Department of Taxation and Finance, said the establishment failed to give the state the sales tax since 2017.
"In general, seizing a business is always a last resort. Long before this becomes a reality, we are reaching out to the tax payer and letting them know there is the outstanding balance due," Gazzale said. "We try to find a way to resolve that debt. Even after seizing a business, we continue to communicate with those business owners in hopes of finding a mutually beneficially way to resolve the debt as quickly as possible so they can reopen."
