Hempstead Town Changes Musical Act For Fireworks Show
Because of travel restrictions, the Billy Joel tribute band that was booked couldn't play.
LIDO BEACH, NY — The Town of Hempstead announced today that it was changing the musical act at its upcoming fireworks show due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus.
Due to the new travel restrictions that have been put in place, Michael DelGuidice and Big Shot, a Billy Joel tribute band, will not be able to play the show.
However, the town has booked Almost Queen, a New York-based Queen tribute band instead.

The concert and fireworks are still scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, with a rain date of Sunday, June 28. The evening will start with the town's Salute to Veterans and Front-Line Heroes, followed by the concert and then the fireworks.
The drive-in event will have limited parking and space is on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is only open to Town of Hempstead residents.
