Long Beach Bicycles Announces It Will Open This Spring
Merrick Bicycles will open Long Beach Bicycles this March in the east end.

LONG BEACH, NY — Merrick Bicycles announced on Monday that they will be opening a second location in Long Beach this spring which will be called Long Beach Bicycles. The store is slated to go into a bicycle shop that closed two years ago at 755 East Park Avenue.
Michael Hammer and Danny Yuricic, both of Merrick, are co-owners of Merrick Bicycles which has been in business for ten years. Hammer and Yuricic told Patch that "We've been looking at Long Beach for well over a year. It's a tremendous city, full of cycling advocates and people who bicycle to get around town."
Long Beach Bicycles plans to be open to the public by March 1st, and because the company has two owners one owner will be on-site full-time once they open. Hammer said that he started in the cycling retail industry a decade ago in Long Beach where at one time there were three bike shops serving the community.

"It's a hole in the community not having a quality bike shop. We are going to not only cater to the beach cruiser community, but we will have full amenities, also cater to the high-end market and be a full-service bike shop."
