Long Beach Braces For First Snow Of 2018
As snow total estimates continue to climb, resident of the Barrier Island should also look out for flooding.

As Long Beach gets ready for the first snow of 2018, the city is reminding residents of winter snow protocols that everyone should be following.
The estimated snowfall amounts keep creeping up, with the city now in line to possibly get four to eight inches. Residents should make sure to follow the rules for clearing out snow.
- Don’t shovel or blow your snow onto the street. It just creates more of a mess for plows.
- Clear a space for your trash cans so city sanitation workers can access them.
- If you have a storm drain near your home, keep it clear of snow, ice and debris so that melting snow will be able to drain.
- Clear away snow and ice from fire hydrants so the fire department can access them in the event of an emergency.
It's possible that Thursday morning could also bring local flooding in Long Beach.
