Long Beach Branch LIRR Service Suspended After Vehicle Hit
BREAKING: Long Beach branch service of the LIRR was suspended Monday between Lynbrook and Long Beach after a train hit a vehicle.

LONG BEACH, NY — Long Beach Branch train service heading east has been restored after a brief suspension Monday, though westbound service remained suspended between Lynbrook and Long Beach.
Service had been suspended in both directions between Lynbrook and Long Beach after a train hit a vehicle, the MTA said.
The 4:15 p.m. and 4: 40 p.m. trains from Penn Station to Long Beach were canceled and the 5 p.m. train was to be diverted to Freeport, the MTA said. The train would stop at Lynbrook, Rockville Centre and Freeport.

Eastbound train service was restored around 5 p.m., the MTA said, noting customers could see residual delays.
A non-passenger train hit an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks west of Centre Avenue, the MTA said. Emergency responders were at the crash.

Customers were told they could transfer at Rockville Centre to the NICE N15 bus, which runs to Oceanside, Island Park and Long Beach. NICE buses were cross-honoring on the N15 bus from Rockville Centre for riders headed to Long Beach.
Eastbound Babylon branch trains were to stop at Lynbrook, Rockville Centre and Freeport to help affected customers on the Long Beach branch, the MTA said.
