Long Beach Bridge To Be Partially Closed For Emergency Work

The work is scheduled to start on Wednesday, and will reduce southbound traffic on the bridge to one lane.

LONG BEACH, NY — Emergency repairs on the Long Beach Bridge will close most of the southbound lanes this week.

The Nassau County Department of Public Works has scheduled the emergency work to start on Wednesday, July 15.

The work will be done in two phases: the first phase will limit the southbound bridge to one lane, with a 15 MPH speed limit. The first phase will take about a week.

The second phase of work will allow the bridge to have two lanes open. It will also take about a week to complete.
