Long Beach Carolers Bringing Holiday Cheer And Charity To City

LONG BEACH, NY — The holidays are going to look different this year because of the coronavirus, but there's one holiday tradition that Long Beach residents will still be able to enjoy in a socially distanced manner: carolers.

A group of residents calling themselves The Long Beach Carolers have come together to spread holiday cheer this year, and to raise money for a good cause at the same time. Residents can book the group of carolers to come sing in front of their home. The carolers will be wearing masks and socially distant.

The fee is a $10 donation to the Long Beach Soup Kitchen, which works to feed the hungry in Long Beach nearly every day. In order to book the carolers, residents must email a receipt showing their donation to agoldin1@optonline.net, and also include their name, address and phone number, as well as the date that works best.

The carolers will be coming on three different days: Dec. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. The carolers can also collect cash donations and non-perishable food items when they come to perform.

A group of no more than 10 people will arrive at your home and sing five carols for your donation.

According to the Long Beach Soup Kitchen, a donation of $10 will provide two days of meals for one of its guests. To donate to the soup kitchen, click here.
