Long Beach Declares Snow Emergency; City Hall Closed
The city has prohibited parking along its Snow Emergency routes.

LONG BEACH, NY — The City of Long Beach has declared a snow emergency as the Nor'Easter continues to batter the area.
The City by the Sea is facing the joint threats of heavy snow and possible flooding. Significant snow accumulation is expected in the city, as well as wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour. In addition, tides are expected to be two to four feet higher than normal, which could lead to coastal flooding.
With the snow emergency declared, parking along the city's Snow Emergency routes is now prohibited. The emergency routes are:

- West Beech Street from Nevada Avenue to Grand Boulevard
- West Park Avenue from Nevada Avenue to New York Avenue
- West Side of Maryland Avenue from Park Avenue to Beech Street
- West Side JJ Evans Boulevard from Park Avenue to Pine Street
- Shore Road from Long Beach Boulevard to Maple Boulevard
- East Pine Street from Neptune Boulevard to Curley Street
In addition, the city has closed City Hall, the Recreation Center, the Ice Arena and Magnolia Hall because of the snow. The bathrooms on the boardwalk are also closed.
The city buses are currently running on a regular schedule, but that could change if the storm worsens.
