Long Beach Firefighters Battle Church Blaze
The firefighters quickly got the blaze under control. No one was hurt.

UPDATE: Firefighters have gotten the blaze under control, and no one was injured.
The Long Beach Fire Department said that the call for the fire came in at 2:47 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from the back of the building. Multiple departments responded and were able to quickly get the fire under control.
The fire was located in the basement of the building. The Nassau County Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Long Beach Fire Department is currently fighting a fire at a church on Long Beach Boulevard.
The fire started around 3 p.m. in the church at 299 Long Beach Blvd., at the intersection with East Walnut Street.
