Long Beach International Film Festival Announces 2016 Lineup

The festival will feature over 40 films as well as musical entertainment.

The 5th annual Long Beach International Film Festival will be returning this summer.

The event will take place from Wednesday, August 3 to Friday, August 5 and will feature over 40 different films.

"So many world renowned filmmakers and musicians come out of Long Island. It's a breeding ground of talent," LBIFF Co-Founder, Ingrid Dodd said. "The Atlantic Ocean will be the backdrop as we showcase these stars, under the stars. It's magical."

AUG. 3:

  • Money - 7 p.m.

AUG. 4:

  • Beauty and the Beer - 10 a.m.
  • Chasing the Win - 10 a.m.
  • Spirit of the Iris - 12:30 p.m.
  • Leaves of the Tree - 12:45 p.m.
  • Since: The Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 - 2 p.m.
  • Saving Jamaica Bay - 3:45 p.m.
  • Shorts Program (Drama) - 4:30 p.m.
  • A Rising Tide - 5:45 p.m.
  • Cherry's In Season - 6:15 p.m.
  • Fire Island - 8 p.m.
  • Money - 8:45 p.m.

AUG. 5:

  • Dirty Old Wedge - 10 a.m.
  • Shorts Program (Documentary) - 10 a.m.
  • Saltwater Buddha - 11:45 a.m.
  • Coach of the Year - 12 p.m.
  • Fire and Water - 1:15 p.m.
  • Nobody Walks in L.A. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Shorts Program (Comedy) - 3 p.m.
  • Shorts on the Beach - 9 p.m.

In addition, for the second year in a row attendees will also be able to enjoy a concert at the National Boulevard stage at the Allegria Hotel. The concert will kick off on Friday, August 5 at 4 p.m.

The concert line-up includes:

  • Raquel Castro, who sung alongside Christina Aguilera in Season 1 of NBC's "The Voice"
  • Marissa Ann, the youngest competitor on "The Voice"
  • Inas X, who opened for hip-hop artist Fetty Wap on tour
  • Robbie Rosen, Long Island native contestant of "American Idol"
  • The Janes, a new female group
  • Brooke Moriber, a pop singer who performed on Broadway's Les Miserables
  • Groundswell, a Long Beach native band
  • The Annie Minogue Band
  • Joe Horowitz

“Each year the festival draws more and more local musical talent and I’m excited to showcase these rising stars in front of film makers and producers from all over the world,” Rick Eberle, LBIFF’s Live Music Director said.
