Long Beach Pitcher Drafted by St. Louis Cardinals
Cardinals announced Wednesday that they drafted a pitcher and Holy Trinity alumnus from Long Beach.
A Long Beach man has been drafted to play for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Max Almonte was drafted in the 16th round of the Major League Baseball 2015 draft, according to the team’s Twitter. He is a pitcher and is pick No. 491.
Almonte is a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and attended Villanova University.

Almonte made 20 appearances and went 3-2 on the season, according to Villanova Athletics.
